{KXLG – Pierre, SD} According to the media release from the South Dakota Property Right and Local Control Alliance (SDPRLCA), a significant political event is set to take place in the Capitol Rotunda on March 26th at 1:30 PM. The SDPRLCA is organizing a Referendum Rally against the controversial bill SB 201.
Initially scheduled for Veto Day, the rally was postponed due to a blizzard. The goal of the Referendum is a “Veto by the People,” with citizens across the state mobilizing to carry petitions to each county.
Jim Eschenbaum, the chair of SDPRLCA, stated, “This boils down to one theme: South Dakota is not for sale.” He criticized the bill as poorly written and warned of its potential consequences, including the loss of local control.
